Based on the classic Christas movie, this production of A Christmas Story was full of the nostalgia and Christmas spirit. My inspiration for this costume design was warm, cozy, handmade sweaters. I wanted the costumes to have the warm colors and textures associated with sweaters, and to evoke the same feeling of nostalgia and warmth as a favorite sweater would. Keeping with warm tones of winter colors, each character had a specific color palate and texture they were associated with, which also applied to each cast as this show had a double cast of children. It was also important to make sure that the audience got to see notable costume pieces such as Flick's hat with aviator goggles, Randy's snow suit, Scut Farkus's raccoon hat, and of course the pink bunny suit!
