This dance piece choregraphed by visiting artist Ray Mercer, was about questioning what traditional female beauty looks like. Instead of having soft warm colors and silhouettes, Ray wanted a clean monochrome look to the costumes. The chorography also needed the dancers to have hoods in their costumes. My inspiration for this piece was finding and creating pieces that had a clean, crisp tailored look that fit in the cool black and white color palette. Think classy New York businesswomen.
